86-91 motors

I have a 86 n/a and I ran across a 91 n/a for next to nothing. Are the motors swapable? The stats on a 86-88 stock motor are 135 hp and the 89-91 is 160hp. What is the difference? I know I should really look for it in the search, but I looked and couldn't find what I was wanting to know, so if someone could help me out that would be great! Thanks

Look at the stiky threads and archives, and you will find your answer. Basicly, they are swappable, IF you also swap the ECU, harness, and other doodads that are different. But it may be easier to just swap the good parts to the 91. Most people here think the 91 is sexier anyway. What's wrong with the 91's body/interior, or are you just getting the engine?
