vibrates in gear and not , sitting in drive way . i lifted front of tranny a quarter inch and car runs smooth now what ????????

you lifted the tranny with it running?

from under the car you should be able to see your engine and tranny mounts, that could be your problem.

Yeah. Check the transmission & engine mounts. Sticking a jack under the transmission will remove the load placed on the mounts, which may be why the vibration stopped.
