it's a nice car surely...I prefer the other style R Magic nose but thats just me. That clearly isn't a factory mazda color but it's REAL close to claret mica (my shade) which means I'll probably never get my car in there 2 FC's w/ similar colors won't fly for a car featured so rarely. I know the writer/photographer for the mag in NYC so I'll shoot him some snaps and see what he thinks. I'm anxious to see what kinda one-off stuff they produce and sell...

super street has come very far...they used to be like import tuner (ick) but now they feature real performance cars, most of them right out of the Jap tuners shops and they feature a lot of different cars which is always appreciated. The old school stuff seems to be "in" with them over the past year and I won't complain, I love it!! check out www.aerodyne.net they have some of their own parts for sale - looks quality, very cheap considering they make it themselves. they also stock Feed and R-Magic etc...I've been in e-mail contact w/ them about dealing their parts...very nice people!!

super street and sport compact car are the ones I buy bc they are really performance oriented and cater to a lot of different cars (SCC has had a lot of good project cars). Super Street is more about straight out-of-Japan stuff (either cars built there or here using imported parts) but they choose their features well as most cars are really unique in what they were built to do. I went to the photoshoot of the SQC (subaru queens crew) meet last summer w/ my guys from Z-1 (long islands WRX gurus) and had a great time. Aerodyne's car is nicely put together...a very very cool car!!

yeah...sport compact car is good. they are more grown up than superstreet and they give 1/4 mile times and hp figures and etc. they are more like the motor trend of import tuning. by the way, ryde or die check your PMs

except that the only hp figure they gave for the fc was something around 400 hp which in all likeliness was an estimate at the crank. i bet the car makes plenty of power, but they were too amibiguous with a car that they'll probably never highlight again. that made me want the r-magic kit though, the headlights are tolerable i suppose.
you should read in the letters, some guy actually bitches about the abundance of skylines and silvias. maybe they should put some more geo's and hyundai's in there, we all know they're better than a silvia

SCC is about really tuning and playing with their cars as well as testing a TON of parts per project and meeting real budget goals relative to serious performance. Super Street gives us a nice overview of some of the coolest cars built w/ that Japanese flavor (they may be fast, they may be slow but I'd love to own them all!!). The old school AE86 in the last issue was really cool...

SCC got a BIG boost last year when they got bought out by the same company that does either R&T, or Motor Trend. It gave them the budget backing to do some great comparisons, and really get some in depth tech articles, not just, "Hey, lets stick this sheet metal wing on a bunch of Honduh Civics, and then see which one can handle 300 lbs of neon, and still be able to hit 60 mph in 30 seconds." I HATE import tuner, and I dislike Super Street- every f&*$ing issue is the same crap. SCC is by far the most professional puplication.
It's the only one I will buy.

Primedia publishes a lot of the automotive magazines that are currently out there (in the US).
Among the titles that they own:
SCC
Super Street
Import Tuner
Turbo Magazine
Automobile
Lowrider Euro
Popular Hot Rodding
Motor Trend
Chevy High Performance
They didn't get a boost in their budget. You are quite mistaken.
In fact, their stock is doing horrible now compared to a few years ago.

SCC is a good mag, my favorite one to read and re-read...super street covers all the cool stuff from Japan that I can't get enough of (to me it's become like a mini-Option 2 in English). I'd make a few changes but super street has come a long way!!! Turbo has gone DOWN the tubes the past few year...cancelled my subscription. SCC feature coverage is ok, it's the project cars and the coverage there that makes the mag worthwhile IMO
