600$ 87' Turbo II

Hey all, lets start this off by saying 2 things. Im a canadian, and a n00b.

I just bought a 87 RX-7 Turbo II for 600 cash. It has 220,000 kms, (150,000ish miles) and it runs great. The only things wrong are that it is missing the little fog light, and has a small dent in the front bumper.

First off, I was wondering if this was a good deal? Second off, I was wondering what is the first thing I should do to it?

Thanks for the input!

Thats a steal, you got lucky. First thing you should do is a full tune up, plugs, wires, oil and oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, etc. and it will run even better.

Congrats, ^^ Do what he suggest. A full tune up will help the motor out.

Rx7store.net, mazdatrix.com, racingbeat.com, pineappleracing.com, rx7.com, rotorsportracing.com, and I'm sure there are more I've forgotten. Good find though I'm looking for something similair myself

Your local autoparts stores will or should have the parts for a basic tune-up....start there first

A while back I picked up a 1987 Turbo II, Grey interior and a nice black exterior for $250.

Oh and it is. Before you put any money into it, see how your compression is. Didn't get mine tested until I got a side seal stuck and it was slightly over half of new specs.

Also make sure they don't give you all BUR9EQ's. I went to Napa this week and told him what I needed 2 BUR9EQ's and 2BUR7EQ's and the guy had to look it up still then he brought back 6 BUR9EQ's and said that thing is a 6 cylinder right. LOL I had to show him the "L" and the "T" on the plugs and explain that I had no cylinders. Parts guys are stupid sometimes. So make sure you know exactly what you need before they give you the wrong stuff.

I use a website, www.kijiji.ca (.com for US). Its a free online classifieds thing, you just pick your city and you can find some sick deals.
