6-Port Turbo Conversion
Dudes Im in a bit of a dilema right now... Pulled apart the 13BT from my kids car and did a close inspection of it... Its toast. 3 areas of the front housing have broken areas around the water seals, both housings are flaking with the rear showing signs of spalling due to bad oiling and a few other issues here and there.
Now Ive spent the better part of the evening looking around in searches to see if anyone has ever used a 6-port motor with a stock turbo setup. Why couldn't one just plug the aux ports up or is it a matter of the intake being totally different between a 4-port and 6-port motor? If the bolt spacings and primary port locations are the same and only the aux ports being the additional issue what would stop me from using the stock intake and turbo in a mild configuration? My problem is I dont have the money laying around for another 13BT motor but have access to several 13B non turbo motors, one that is in good condition.
I do know the compression is higher in the non turbo motor so I will have to be careful with this and I also plan to use the Megasquirt-II computer and loose the stock box.
So what would be the downside to this conversion? This is unchartered territory for me here.
Thanks
