6 Port Removal ?

All I need to know is once you remove the upper manifold, is it brutally obvious which screws to remove to take out the sleeves? I understand that the ports just slide out, but the sleeves are held in be a screw. How hard is this project? P.S. I have already done a search for this, but I found no real answers!

well they are not really held in by a screw at all

the two actuators turn a shaft that turns the sleeves. that shaft is the only thing that touches them, other than the port that they sit in
so when you take the lower manifold off they can just be slid out.

the project is fairly difficult i guess i would say, if you have never been down there before

I am taking off the upper manifold to port the bad boy, but do I have to remove the lower manifold to get to the ports? So, once it is all apart, it is easy to see what to do, hunh?

hey

I have done it. Yes its easy. I did it with no expierience and thougt everything was self explanitory. You need to take apart the lower intake wich means taking twisting off the two oil lines. (for my 89). Just to close to my manifold. After you take off that thiers a rod that ataches itself the the sleeve. The sleeves do slide rite out. Take out the rods then cover up the actuator holes. I used a dime and some blue silicone. Walla. With your porting job and heads I think you might even gain some low end without them. Just depends.
