6 month old clutch going bad??

i ordered the racing beat h/d street strip clutch and pressure plate a while back aout 6 months and i think its going out alreaddy. on hard shifts forn first to seccond it used to chirp the tires. now it just revs down really slow and then jumps back up. flat out acceleration in second is really bad. all the signs of the clutch going bad. whats up? i would have thought it would have lasted longer than this is this fast of ware normal??
i changed the rear main seal, flywheel, clutch, pp, throw out berring, and rear trans main seal all at the same time and it has all been dandy till about a week ago then all the sudden all this.

so would this be normal ware be normal or if it isnt what would cause it to go out so fast?

How do you drive? I have over a year on the Racing Beat street/strip clutch/pressure plate, and it shows no signs of weakening. I also very seldom chirp the tires, and 90% of the miles are highway, with another 9% being gentle city driving. Even the 1% autocross & winding road stuff isn't really hard on the clutch - it's mostly "Put it in 2nd and fly".

If you've been putting a lot of hard miles on it, which your post & sig would imply, it's quite possible to burn up a clutch in 6 months. Top fuel dragsters burn up a clutch in 3-4 seconds.

It may be that your flywheel needs resurfacing...

na the flywheel was brand new from racing beat. i do allot of city driving 50% or better and i hit up the windy roads occasionaly after school so about 25% and i have done 2 or 3 autocrosses. based on that this kind of clutch ware is normal you say?

It is entirely dependent on how you shift. If you don't double clutch the downshifts, or at the very least rev match downshifts, there will be a good deal of clutch wear as the clutch has to spin the engine/flywheel up to the new speed. If, as your first post would imply, you spend a lot of time leaving rubber on the ground, that's going to be fairly hard on the clutch.

Me? I expect my clutch to outlive my rebuilt engine. But, I'm also very easy on it, and do everything I can to prevent clutch wear (reference rev matching & such, plus most of my miles are highway).

I have a act stage 3, it was only driven for a week before going into my car and it alreayd slips and ****. But in my case it makes sense since the block was stored in a shed and the **** rusted. Not really related but still very sad.

Did you not clean up or resurface the flywheel? It's a very bad idea to use a dirty, rusty flywheel.

The 6 month old one should still be perfect, unless you ride the clutch.
