6 lug dakota hubs?
Hey everyone hope you are all doing well. do you guys think its possible for me to swap in 6 lug dodge dakota hubs or an 6 lug hubs on my fc? I've had my eyes on some wheels and the opportunity just came up.

Anything is possible. It won't be a drop-in swap, and you'll need to fabricate everything yourself.
But let me ask you a question, why would you ever want to do this? The 5x114.3 pattern most FCs came with is the most common wheel pattern. Even the 4x114.3 FCs have a decent selection of wheels.
Not to mention spending tons of time and money just to obliterate any resale value in your car.

The wheels I want are 6 lug, but I found some adapters that I can put on to 5 lug hubs, after I do that swap. Thanks for the advice sir!

I'm just trying to wrap my head around this. So the adapters will move the well further out by whatever their thickness is effecting where your wheels sit in relation to if you ran a 5 lug that didn't need an adapter. You might want to take this into account and look at the offsets the wheels are available in and get an offset that puts the wheel back in the proper location after adding the adapters. A couple offset calculators. You'll want to look at the stock wheels which IIRC are 40mm. At least on the turbo cars vs the total offset of your new wheels plus adapters.

I've tried adapters before and found it to be difficult for the reasons Dak mentioned above. It isn't impossible but there's a lot to account for. Here's some stuff to consider:
- Make sure adapters are hub centric.
- Make sure the inner diameter of the adapter is the same or larger as hub diameter.
- Make sure the outer diameter of the adapter hub is the same or smaller as the wheel bore.
- Make sure the adapter is thick enough that the hub side studs don't collide with the wheel.
- Make sure the adapter is thick enough that the space where the hub diameter tapers (if applicable) from the inner diameter to outer is farther out than the dust cap on the hub.
- Make sure that while the above is true, it isn't so far out that the wheel will stick out from the fender.
Make sure to run adapter rings if necessary.

Here's a thought. Since the wheels you want are apparently truck wheels. Do they come in a fitment for a Ford Ranger? They have the same 5X114.3 pattern as the Rx-7. You'll still have to look at the offset to make sure they'll fit though.
Edit to add: I'm talking about the old Ranger that production ended in 2011. Not the new/ current one that is a 6 lug pattern.

You're going to need more than adapters. Like a widebody kit as well. Viper fronts were a 10-inch rim. I'm about 99% sure a 10-inch rim won't fit under the front fenders. The adapters will help you at least in getting the rims away from the suspension. Ronin Speedworks makes a decent looking one. FC Wide Body Full Kit (roninspeedworks.net)

Are the hubs swappable? spacer ring for the hub/machining it out to FC will get you in the realm of redrilling the hub, if it's big enough in diameter. If the flange is large enough, redrilling and a hub centric adapter ring might work. You can play with offset, need a machine shop willing to help. I have no idea if this would be strong enough for racing.
