5th and 6th ports WERE??
5th and 6th ports WERE??
well the guy who had the car befor me messed it up BAD!!!
and now for the life of me i can't find what's opening my 5th and 6th ports
i looked all over the fourms for info, but i don't have a power loss the only thing is in 5th gear i hit a wall at 4-5K RPM thats 110MPH its pritty stock so i think my motors just maxing out.
rx7 87 N/A S4.......... soo yea heres some pix maybe u can find it.

If it's an s4 then your 5th and 6th ports are opened by exhaust back pressure I believe. Whereas an S5 is opened electronically. You won't be able to see them anywhere without getting into the actual keg either so I wouldn't bother looking. You can take the sleeves out though. What exactly is the problem? Just the lack of accel in 5th once you hit 110mph?
Not sure if this will help you, but it's a good start.

The valves are controlled by the actuators, for bottom end performance you want them closed 600-4000rpm range, for top end performance you want them open 4000-redline range.
if your topping out with minimal power chances are they are not opening. This is caused by a few things, the valve inside may be gunked up (FIX: take the manifold off and clean it) the actuators is bad (FIX: change it with a good one, test first with a vacuum test pump and gauge tool) And check the vacuum line from the exhaust to the actuators. If this line is cracked they will not open. They use pressure from the exhaust to open.

yea sorry forgot to say i installed RB headers, also when i got it the guy was running stright pipe no cat with stock headers. i think when he axed his cat he axed his air comp. oo i put a high flow cat on cuz my smog is due soon.

yea!! I mean it gets up their, but it just really drags *** when i hit 110
also i get a really high pitch from my motor/headers and my cat vibrats like a mother
its like my motors trying to release persuer but cant.

110 in 5th huh? i can hit that in fourth easy, you wont feel a power loss from them not opening, youll notice when they are fixed though. You dont hit any kind of power loss feeling when they are supposed to open and dont, you just lose a lot of top end, thats the best i can describe, sorry it kinda hazy lol
first thing you should do is play with the actuators with your hands and make sure that they move freely (aka, without mch force). if they do then you may have a problem with the vac line (as stated above), if the actuators are even the problem. there is a small metal line under the actuators that runs to both of them and it outlets factig the same direction as your exhaust. its gonna be pretty hard to see tho. *normally* there is a rubber vac line coming off of that which connects to a check valve and into the split air pipe (which inturn goes to the main cat). since you are running no cat, i assume that you live where there are no emmissions, so now you have a couple of options:
1) leave it and suffer
2) wire them open (not recommended)
3) do an electric pump hook up: http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/2n...elec6port.html
4) do an airpump hookup (provided you still have one: http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/2n...actuation.html
of course, this is all assuming that the problem IS the aux. ports and that the actuators are working properly

sorry, didnt catch that. well if you have a cat made for s4's on there than it will have a little pipe coming off that you need to attach the spliat air pipe to. the split air pipe when then branch apart, one line (the bigger) goes to the air pump, the smaller goes to the aux. port actuators (the little metal vac rack i described earler to be exact). if you dont have an s4 cat then you either need to get one or do one of the things i listed above if you wanna use your aux ports
