5th 6th ports

Might be a dumb question... I just got my 86 not long ago and since then have found out that it doesn't have an air pump. Someone just took it out and only it. Guess I have 2 questions first one is that there is a hose coming out of the engine that must have connected to the back of the air pump, well they just left it on the engine not plugged or anything, should I plug it does it matter either way?

K 2nd question. My 5th 6th ports are not working. The 6th? the one on the right seems to be stuck but the left, (5th?) will move by hand. What would happen if I only wired open that one? Would it be kinda inbetween performance wise? I've read that wiring them both open gives you high rpm power while losing lower end power. Would one closed and one open be taking a middle road, losing just a little low end while gaining half the power back on high end? Thanks for any feedback!

yes you lose power in the low end...more more of a gain in the top end
and if your thinking about just zip-tie-ing it it wont work

you have to take the sleeves themselves if i remember correctly..i have yet to do this to the vert...or fix the exhuast, but im saving up money so i can do a RE swap...so ya

welp, lets see are the ports seized? if they arent then you have two options, you can use the backpressure from the exhuast or you can do the electric port conversion like I had to due to the aftermarket exhaust. Its better all around if the ports are working right!!

The port on the right is stuck but the one on the left isn't. I'm just wondering if I can wire the one thats not stuck open without hurting anything. I've done a lot of research reading through old threads on the ports and how they work but I've never seen anyone ask this before. My exhaust doesn't seem to be opening the unstuck port and I'm missing my air pump. I want to get rid of the stock cat anyways cause its falling apart...
