5th & 6th Port problem

Can I remove & clean my sleeves without removing the mainfold? The actuators seems to try to open the ports but it looks like the sleeves are not turning the required amount. I have an '88 N/A with a brand new RB road race exhaust(SWEET!) and a K/N intake kit. It looks to me like I could unbolt the actuators & then remove the little cover plate & pull the sleeves out? My air pump & ACV are gone so I can see them really good now. Does this make sense? I did find the write-up in the archive & read that the manifolds were pulled.

Thanx Ramses666

Well said. heh. You can't remove the sleeves because the LIM holds them in. You would have to break down all the manifolds to take out the sleeves.

only thing you can do without removing the manifold is to remove the port actuators and wire open the ports!.
