50 miles on rebuild, a few problems i need help with..

ok im having a few problems and wondering what it could be

1. Gears seem like they arent shifting as smooth as they should ... 3rd gear is most noticable on upshift, 2nd gear most noticeable on downshift

2. tach will sometimes shut off when i start car up, and/or will go wild bouncing up and down while im driving then shut off

3. car seems like when it starts up it isnt running that smooth until it is completely warmed up and even then the idle isnt solid still kind of bouncy

4. crank angle sensor wires are kind of crappy right now (electrical taped), the guy that had the car last did this, was wondering if any of the problems i have could be linked to this

5. does the timing matter if its not 100% on ? i been driving it this way for 50 miles or whatever. i figure its not like there are any valves to hit anything so im not worried about my timing

6. heater doesnt turn on , nothing at all goes on as far as the heaters concerned

7. hood wont clasp shut , i push it down and surely it wont go back up unless i push the lever to get it to go up but it wont clasp down ... i can basically just open the hood without even using the hood release

8. noise when i push down the clutch, like a spinning kind of sound...bad t/o bearing or just a crappy performing one ? i have a lightweight flywheel and dual friction clutch, someone told me they had the samme problem and switched to a mazdaspeed t/o bearing and it fixed the problem

9. speedometer isnt turning on, i think i may have connected the speedo cable properly but i thought it was on all the way

i cant think of anything else right now but if i do ill put it on here

i know it seems like alot but it was alot worse when i first got it

1. sounds like your trailing coil is either going out or theres some bad wiring cause your tach works off your trailing coil...2.. try to get your car to idle around 1500 rpm till it is broken in,its bouncing up and down cause your tps needs to be adjusted along with your timing, but again wait till you have a good 1,000 miles on it before you mess with the timing

i set the timing myself pretty much... i dont mess with it i just leave it how its set

i would think all the wiring is fine since i installed new ones(from another rx7), the only one i didnt replace was the one to the transmission. so i wouldnt think its the wiring at least i hope not, is this a common problem on the coils going out ? and is it common for them to go out period ?

another thing is when car is in gear when i decel the car will be like bucking when the rpms get lower and lower (2000 and less or around there), is this normal

as for the bucking on decel, my car does that, and i think it's due to play in the drivetrain, and from what i've read possibly the half-shafts

Did you swap the engine and wire harness from the exact same model car or was it a different model. It sounds like there are a couple of incorect wires.
