need some help . was sitting at red light went to pull off stalled out . feels like i have 1 and 2nd but the car will just stall like im in 4 or 5th . i do not have neutral it is now reverse . i think it is stuck in reverse and even though i think im putting in 1st it is in both 1st and reverse hence the stalluing out . any one had or heard of this before ? clutch is good . shifter is good . i have heard of 91 earlier miata doing this but the trannys are differnt . help please !!

First thing first, do you think you tried things that could have blown a transmission?

 

found the answer as soon as i posted this thread ! it seem others have found the answer for me . it wasnt a difficult problem to fix just a pain in the *** . took me about an hour didnt have to drop the tranny just had to make a small pry tool out of an allen wrench . good as new !!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

that happend to my brothers camry, what you do to fix it? he junked his but would be good to know if someone searches...

 

dont know if work for yota, but rx7 and miata remove reverse light switch from tranny driver side , EASIER IF CLUTH IS ENGAGED , insert small pry tool twards front of tran , pry it out of reverse , will feel it disengage , put back switch , done ,
