Question 5-slug-swap

I have an 86 4 lug and am trying to swap over to 5 lug but didnt grab the rear calipers will they still work even though the ones i have now are solid and the ones replacing them are vented?

They are the same rear calipers 1 piston. Some are adjustable thow no bigy the system is a joke anyhow.

No, they are not the same, as far as I know. Napa gave me 4 lug rear calipers at first when I was ordering some and they would not even fit onto the rotor with the pads, they were too small.

Ahh coo. Oreilys quoted me they were same in book only differ was adjustable suspention or none. Thow my 5lug is non adjustable. It could be this differance and not the 5lug.

I really doubt it, adjustable suspension has nothing to do with the rotors. Vented rotors are simply thicker than non-vented ones, so 5 lug rear calipers need to be thicker. We measure the 4 versus the 5 lug rear single piston calipers at Napa once the right ones came in, and it was a noticeable difference.

Plus if they weren't different, why would Mazdatrix and other places have different part numbers for vented rear calipers versus non-vented?

Yea I see what your saying and that makes sens and right. The rear ones are $68 a pice so that sucks to have not gotten them.
