5 lug swap

im starting my 5 lug swap and 4 piston caliper brake job. but i seem to have a problem i ordered braided lines form mazdatrix and went to look and check that they would work correct, and it seams i am missing a part from the back of the 4 piston calipers. also the front lines appear to be too short. it looks like 2 rubber lines on the car now that attach to the strut. does the braided line replace the whole thing?? and am i missing something from the caliper??
Thanks
Jason

looks complete, the only thing you may be missing are the washers for the braided lines.

4 pot fronts use a hard line to connect from the caliper to the lines.

You will need to make your own, source them from another car, or buy them from the dealership. I think I bought mine from the dealership for all of $10 or so.

?

Not sure what you are saying here.

The 4 lug brakes have two 4 pot soft lines connected together to make the connection from the main hardline to the caliper. The 4 pot brakes connect from the main hardline, to a soft line, to a hardline, to the caliper.

The place you got them made the soft lines to the 4 pot specification.
The hardline you need will go from the caliper, and connect to the softline at the clip on the strut.

so what your saying is the hard line cut in the first pic i have attaches to the clip on the strut, so i need to either make new lines or buy them from somewhere. do you know where i can get them from at a reasonable price??

Ah!

They cut the hard line you need.
I got mine at the dealer, or you can make your own, or put a post on the for sale ad.

You need one of each... you could also take the part number and go to the dealer, but I doubt much money would be saved if at all.

yeah - that was exactly my reasoning

since we are on the topic here - and i want to raise a question about the 5-lug swap. i've already searched the archives and found mixed results on this, plus the FSM evidence doesn't seem to warrant any action.

i'm trying to figure out what changes if any are necessary for the proportioning valve.

i have a s4 non-turbo base model. i have the full rear / full front turbo brake swap already. i went out and bought a reman'd master cylinder and bought what appears to be a turbo brake booster.

recently i saw a pic of a turbo brake master / booster and it looked like there was one additional proportioning valve present in the picture which I dont have.

can anyone address this question with 100% certainty?

thanks!
