4 Piston or Single Piston Brake Lines?
4 Piston or Single Piston Brake Lines?
I did a 5 lug conversion and I wanted to go ahead and swap over to 4 piston front calipers, so I ordered some 4 piston stainless steel brake lines from mazdatrix, but I think I may have ordered the wrong ones, because they don't seem like they'll fit. Should I have ordered the single piston lines? I included some pictures of what I've got for reference.
Four piston front calipers actually have a hard line that goes from the strut to caliper. The flexible line portion only runs from the wheel well to the strut bracket. When you make the switch to four piston calipers you would need that hard line.
Someone else would have to chime in on if single piston lines would work with four piston calipers if you wanted to switch to SS lines now before you upgrade the calipers.

but if you already got the stainless steel lines, go to your autoparts store and buy hard line and a flare tool and make them yourself. Ive done the same thing when i swapped, wish i had ordered single piston ss lines myself.
Wow, thanks for the quick responses. That's exactly what I was wanting to know, and you guys seem pretty confident. I'm going to see if they'll let me exchange these for single piston lines. Much appreciated.
