3rd Gen Alternator on an FC

Who has swapped out their 87-88 alternator for a 3rd gen alternator?
What kind of mods needed to be made to get it to fit and plug in?
Anyone notice a difference?

If anything on my page is unclear, wrong or just plain stupid, I'd appreciate the input.

Thanks,
Mike

My experience is that by adding an additional 14 amp load, the 70 amp series 4 alternator cannot keep up.

The 80 amp series 5 can, barely.

The series 6 100 amp alternator is rules.

I have it on there. I think I kinda talked Mike into this mod. Easy to do.
