3500rpm hesitation...NOT TPS!

its a 88 jspec turboii. put a new tps on today and it still has the same problem. ON LIGHT THROTTLE when it reaches 3500 it kind of bucks like a rev limiter, but if i go more than about 1/4 throttle, it will cruise right past it.

You be surprised what a bad ground or the lack of them could do, I suggest checking that!

I had the same thing happen to my '87 n/a. I had checked the tps, was about to do the ground wire thing, then noticed I had a ripped vacuum line that connects to the LIM on the passenger side, about where the UIM bolts to the LIM. It's in a grouping of two vacuum fittings right by the ACV, that loop around the UIM, firewall side, and connect to the emissions vacuum assembly.

Don't ask me what it went to, all I know is I had the stutter, pulled into autozone, bought a section of hose, replaced it and drove off without the stutter! good luck ~rich

i had this same problem, it was a vac leak and then turned out to be low compression on rear rotor.. just a thought.

this is 90% of the time poor grounding, make sure the ring ground to the block in the wiring harness is secure, make sure, the ground that connects to the firewall is secure, and clean, then add a few more ground wires from intake manifold to chassis, and block to chassis, if that doesnt help, add some grounds from ecu to chasis, and then battery to chasis.
