2nd hand HKS T04E turbo Q

I just bought a 2nd hand HKS T04e for my 1990 FC 13BT
condition is well. but looks not very clean in side.
how do we clean the turbo?
How bad is a turbo to need rebuild, and What does workshop do when they rebiuld it?
And...how much power at wheels do i get when it is put on, with nomarl boost (what min boost gonna be)?
ThankX

Pics???

Are we talking about the cold / compressor side or the hot / turbine side?

If it's the compressor side...it there a lot of oil in it?
If so, this might be bad news, as the turbo could've eaten it's compressor seal.

If it's the turbine side...is there a lot of black crud in it?
If so, the turbine seal might've failed; if the engine "blew", then this could explain it also.

If we're talking about whitish / tan deposits in the turbine housing, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT - this is normal.

Check play on the center shaft - grab the shaft and shake it around.
You are allowed slight radial play - side-to-side.
The shaft should not move axially - in-and-out.
At any time, the wheels should NEVER bind and hit the housings.

They just use a rebuild kit and replace most of the internal parts - both journal oil bearings, thrust bearing, compressor seal, turbine seal, and c-clips that hold the bearings in.

The turbo should do 300hp at the wheels easily at 15 to 17 psi.

Provided that he had the proper fuel modifications...

What is that, a 720/1000 combo with fuel controller?

4 x 720 is on the edge to support 300 at the wheels.
720 + 1000 should have no problem.
