2nd gen's
alright i know this question has been asked prlly a million and 5 times so if someone would kindly post a link of or if u feel like explaining it plz do.
looking at the diff model years of the fc's i want i see no real differances so i was wonderin cosmetically between 86-88 other than spoilers are the bodies the same?? or did they get longer and wider as they progressed?? ive come across a lot of shells for sale and some were on ebay said they just needed seals or gaskets sounds like something i could tackle on my own or at least try. thnx for any help.

86-88 are all the same, 89-91 have different front bumper cover and color matched trim and stuff. you realy need to read the FAQ at the top of the 2nd gen forum, everything your asking is there

All 2nd Gen (86 - 92) have the exact same shell, just different accessories. 86 - 88 had the Black molding around the car, and a front and rear bumper to match it. 89 - 92 has painted (same color as the car), smooth molding but with a sportier front and rear bumper.
Also, side mirrors, spoilers, the sunroof, taillights, and wheels vary from model to model.

Just to let you know, when they talk about "blown seals" or "blown o-rings" in ads and such on ebay, they're just trying to make it look simple. The seals and o-rings they're referring to are generally the ones inside of the engine, and will require a full overhaul. Read the FAQs, or do a search for rebuilding your engine and you'll see what's involved with that.
