Hi i have an 88 rx7 non turbo with timing issues i believe. Ill start be giving a little history on the engine. ive had ths car parked for a few year and decided to reclaim it. I have replace mostly ever gasket and vacume line...I live in Canada and well lot of things were rusted to say the least--ill get to that--. The engine has the rats nest removed and all emmission control, cats....etc..I have to mention that the only thing left from the rats nest is the fluel pressure switch is inbetween two vacumme lines one comming off the fuel pressure regulator and the other comming off the trottle body just under the BAC. im not sure if this is need or i can just run a simple vacume line without the switch or w/e that black thing is. also about that does anyone know what color connector goes to that switch? is it the orange one? so to the timing part, the pully's were just caked with rust and showd no sing of any timing marks. i have a manual of this car and have i think i found how to find TDC. if im reading right the TDC will be inlined with one of the pully bolds, is this right? if not how do i find the correct timing. I have set it to what i think is TDC and when i try to start the car it takes several cranks to get it started and once started the engine is very shakey. If i loosen the ditributor and turn it to the right is seems to smoothen out but not completely.. please any info would be great.. thanx guys
