2nd Gen RX-7 purchasing Questiions..

Hi...most of you in london will know me from the car club meets..but anywho...hi, my name is bart.

My friend is selling his civic and getting an RX-7, a white one.

I found it at a "location", and it has 150,000km on it.

It's white...no rust in sight.

The interior and exterior is pretty mint. The guys want $1200.00(CDN) for it.

They say it needs a new Head Gasket..but what else should I look for, because I don't want my buddie to get screwed with this car.

Thanks

bartek

RX07's do not have head gaskets. They don't have heads. I think they ared trying to pull the wool over your eyes bro.

Good Purchasing Info Links

HI:

I just recently puchased a 1987 RX-7 Coupe - my third RX-7. I found some articles on the web written by a fellow RX-7 owner/fan that I found to be quite helpful and informative...perhaps you will too

Here's the links:

Send me a private message. We'll arrange a time and go have a look at the car. Why did the seller say it needed a "head gasket"?

With luck, it's just an exhaust leak. With bad luck, it's a new motor.
Maybe haggle the price down more.

hey, thanks for all the replys...

This car is at a local wreckers and they are trying to sell it...

When the guy told me it needs a new head gasket..I was a bit confused(since I'm not big intoo RX7's) but I knew that there wasn't one.

I'm just wondering if the apex seals are gone..and maybe he meant that..

but I'm going there today and I'm going to asking him again...what the problem is with the car..then if he can't get the word right, I'll say " Are the Rotary Flanges good"?

and if he responds to that answer..I will politely tell him there are not Rotary Flanges and that I made that up...

I want to see if he was just bulshitting about the problem or dosen't know his stuff well.

Sorry for the spelling...I'm in a hurry.

thanks

bartek

Get Aaron to go with you. Hes very knowledgable and could tell you exactly whats wrong with it. That rotary flange thing will probably just **** the dude off and make him not sell you the car.
