2nd gen with blown tranny-Questions

An auto salvage yard I deliver to just brought in a 2nd gen RX-7. It was a title loan repo. The motor still runs, but the tranny won't go into gear (it's a manual). If I can get this for a couple hundred bucks, where can I get a tranny and about how much? Are all 2nd gen trannies compatible, or do I have to determine the year and package before I begin to move on this? I'd like to save this car from a death it does not deserve.

You can get trannys in junkyards or from people in the classifieds section of the forums. You can find them anywhere from 100-150 on the forums if they want to get rid of it, and on up from there. I honestly have no idea what a junkyard would charge for one.
As for what works, any tranny from a non-turbo FC will work in a non-turbo, and any from a turbo car will work in a turbo FC.

Sweet. I just need to get a buddy to tow it to my garage that's over an hour away. Any vendors sell full rebuilt trannys. Anything stupid I'm not thinking of that could prevent it from going into gear? Less than 500 bucks for a running FC would be great. I'd roll cage it and run it in spec 7.
