Its really a test of your wiring and sensors for the fuel injection. Bad water temp sensor? Good luck getting it started in the cold. Basically the cold tends to elevate any small problems you might have.

heh, yea, may wanna set the s-afc to +50% if your water thermosensor is dead. i was upping mine to about +30% when it was decent weather out (70s?).

Right- I'm sure temps have an effect on the amount of fuel injected during cranking though.

Let me clarify my statement: There's nothing special about the rotary that will make it hard to start in these low temps. As long as the car is working properly, it should never be an issue.
