2 Major problems...Maybe one sollution?!?!?!Please Help!

Greetings from Greece...

I have a FC '91 Turbo II Convertible and i have 2 major problems...

I. The car has strange idle. The rpm fall once and then it goes steady at 900rpm but only when the engine is warm. When the engine is cold it dies. Also when the engine bay is hot and i shut the engine for 15-20 minutes and then i start the engine the car stumbles and aften dies.

II. When i accelerate it fast, i mean when i press the gas pedal WOT and i am at 60-80 mph and around5 000 -6000 rpm i hear a strange knock coming from the engine bay and the engine's rpm suddenly fall brutally at about 4000rpm

Could it be the boost sensor???Faulty wastegate or other valve?
Fuel pump maybe??
Or is it electrical??Alternator or coil?

I recently replaced spark plugs(ngk) and spurk plug wires(magnecor) and cleaned the injectors. Also i replaced the fuel filter. The car is stock.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

PS:Excuse my english please

What mods do you have if any?

1. Check out the thermowax. If it has been removed or is not functioning correctly your car will have trouble idling when cold. It also sounds like you have a hot starting problem. This could be due to low compression or leaking injectors. Check the FAQ at the top of the page for some links on how to fix this.

2. How much boost are you running when you hear this "knock" and loss of power. It sounds like you are hitting fuel cut.

Well the car doesnt have any major mods...just the spark plug wires.
When i hear the knock i boost the car pretty high...but sometimes it happens with medium boost levels too.
The car runs just fine...
how can i check the thermowax???
Thanks in advance

Ha! It's a hell of a lot better than what a lot of the little hoodrats on here call "English!". Apparently rotary fumes are a substitute for education. Lol

Download the factory service manual from iluvmyrx7.com
it was a procedure for checking the thermowax. It's on the back of the throttle body. Definatly sounds suspect to me.

And it also does sound like you are hitting the fuel cut. Maybe the boost sensor is kaputz?
Procedure for checking that is also in the FSM.
