1st and 2nd housing interchangeability

hello all!

On my orig engine, the fronthousing had a number 1 on it and a number 2 on the rear. On the one that was in the car when i got it both housings had the #2. Are the housings interchangeable?

I don't think I understand, do you have two motors, or did you have someone rebuild the engine?

I am probably wrong, but as far as I can figure the rotor housings on a second gen motor should be the same.

As long as you have two rotor housings from a second gen you will be fine.
