uhhh, you said your boost controller is all the way CLOSED? CLOSING the boost controller RAISES boost. OPEN the boost controller all the way up and your boost will not be so HIGH.

WHY DO PEOPLE USE BOOST CONTROLLERS WHEN THEY DONT KNOW HOW THEY WORK?

Close Means no Boost ....

Aclarations:

The car was and still boosting over 12 PSI with and without Boost controller. The problem relies in the Wastegate that doesn't level boost a 8.5 or 10 PSI as is supposed to, Thats why porting it and checking it will solve the problem. When I Say "close" means close option in turbonetics manual Boost controller means no Boost,

Thanks for the advice anyway is appreciated ....

Yes I know I'm controlling my foot, i'm a little more relieve now that I put a FCD and the Fuel regulator although Rewiring the Stock pump or a better one and maybe bigger injectors will be more safe...For now I'm light on my foot ....

ONLY one MORE Question, I promisse

Is it more expensive and reliable buying an external wastegate for my FD or Porting the Stock one.????

Seems to me Porting will be Enough to control the boost level,

Later!!! And Thanks

Picturessssssssss

you have an fc! and just port yours. i wouldnt even wanna imagine what it would be like to convert to an external wastegate.

BLUE TII has converted his BNR Stage IV to use an external wastegate. It looks good.

throw on a denso comp. fuelpump, and a bell rising rate fuel pressure regulator and your problems are solved... you can now run 15lbs. safely on your motor.

Clarification Please !!!!!!!!!!!1

I'm opening the subject since although I know by the good advice heard in this post that the wastegate is the main Problem ,What I don't understand is why I'm boosting so High, I believe the wastegate is dirty or closed and thats the boost increase, My mods are a mild street porting on the fuel and Scape , other than that stock mothor, stock turbo,

Boost should be arround 10PSI tops if the wastegate is working properly(street Port, downpipe and Exhaust 10PSI max) CORRECt me on this one if I'm Wrong,

SO the question is, Should the wastegate regulate at least 10 PSI and no need of porting the wastegate, Although porting will help,

I allready set my mind on porting it but if the wastegate is no good I migh still be in the same problem it seems like.

Later and Thanks in advance for the Post!

You reall need to port the wastegate. I just did this a few weeks ago and it is not bad.

Your wastegate may be stuck closed. How big is you exhaust diameter? With a full 3 inch exhaust you will creep above 10psi depending on the gear. Trust me.

Wastegates do not really go bad. Check the actuator arm to see if it moves it could be stuck not allowing it to open. It should be pretty difficult to move by hand. Either way you will still need to port it if you want to get boost back to stock levels.

actuator is the thing on the top left of the turbo with the arm going to the other side

stock wg

after porting

Hope this helped. Just follow RETed's write up, that's what I did.

Before I would creep in 3rd gear all the way to 5th over 12psi. The longer I stayed on the gas the higher boost would go. Now it stays below 10psi in 3rd gear to 5th unless its a really cold night then it might creep a little past 10. My burr wasnt long enough to port deeper so that is why it is not holding boost as well. Some people have been able to hold 7psi in all gears except on a cold night.
