Why did you capitalize every word in your first post? Anyhow, the tranny is blown, get a new one.

if you're losing that much fluid, just keep checking at the dipstick to see if you're loosing oil, if not then assume it's the atf. Or you could just smell it and see if it's oil or something else.

if you can access the fsm go to page K 51 look at item #1 the vaccum diaphram. pull the hose off to see if it leaks fluid. if it does, the diaphram is broken and would cause a cloud of white smoke.
dont wait. you want to try to save the tranny.
goodluck

would the diaprahm cause the car to only go in reverse i would think that it wouldnt go at all if the transmission is completely gone

it was worked on before i bought the car and i dont think that the mechanic knew a lot about rotarys i am pretty certain it was replaced so it only has 40 thousand or so miles on it and 100 total on the car

i think there is a leak in the main seal or speedometer cable and over time it has gotten worse due to an overfill of transmission fluid(stupid mechanic) (i am a woman and i think i know more than he does)

i am not understanding the psm k51 stuff where is that exactly
and thanks so much for the advice it is very helpful

i am pretty sure there is a coolant line behind the upper intake manifold one downside is that you have to take off the upper manifold to get to it...they commonly leak onto the exhaust. Take a look at that line it might help
