1990 GTU Shifter/transmision Problem!!!! PLEASE HELP!!

1990 GTU Shifter/transmision Problem!!!! PLEASE HELP!!
[size="3"]i Just Bought This Car A Couple Of Weeks Ago For A Low Price Of $1125 But The Guy Said That It Only Drives In Reverse, Which It Does. So, When I Bought A New Battery And Turned It On It Seemed Fine. But When I Start To Let Go Of The Clutch In What I Thought Was Nuetral It Started To Die Off. I Took The Shifter Off And All I Can See Is The "trans Shifter Sprg" The Little Spring That Brings The Shifter Back To Neutral. I Don't Know What To Do. He Gave Me A Replacement Transmission But The "trans Shifter Sprg" On That On Is Broken/snapped In Two.
Please Help. Thank You[/size]
