1988 vert how much is it worth

I found a 1988 vert in my area, the guy that owns the car knows little about his cars history. The car has been painted black, and was originally red. He put a set of GTU seats in it, and the top has some major tears in it. The transmission is in good shape all syncos are working well, the engine compression with a standard gauge was ~90psi all around. The car has 145000 miles on it, everything else seems in order. I am pulling a carfax on it now. How much do y'all think it is worth? The paint job is not that great, the bumper have started to crack, and they painted over the door stickers.
Thanks,
Mike

well i bought my 90 vert for 4,500 it had 130000 miles on it, 90 compression all the way around, fully loaded power everything, cruise, 17' rims some brand new jap tires, auto tranny (i hate that thing i want a 5-speed) almost perfect interior big *** wing and 3 cuts in the top but it does not leak

so i would say that one would be around 2500 i wouldn't pay over 3 grand for it
hope this helps you out

Wouldn't pay over $3 grand

I agree. Maybe less because of the color change (unless it was properly stripped before painting) and non-vert replacement parts like the seats (headrest speakers IMO is one of the best features about the Vert).

But, at the end of the day, it's what you're looking for and willing to pay.

I paid $2500 for my 88, back in January with a new top and original paint and 113K miles and better compression.

So I wouldn't give the guy anymore than $2200 for a that many miles and repaint and non- original interior.

I actually would offer $1500 and bitch about the paint and compression.

Thumbs down Carfax, not good

The car came up with hail and fire damage on a salvaged title. That sucks, if anyone is interested I've got his number he is asking $2000. I am going to offer him $700 for it.
