1988 T2...runs, kinda. Many problems, all inside..

Ok. I just finished putting it back together, with all new gaskets, vacuum lines, emissions removal, and the like. I have rechecked everything, found a vacuum leak, fixed it, and now the car runs pretty damn well. I have no emissions whatsoever, no OMP, no BAC, etc.

Now, the car will not hold idle. It TRIES (I think) to hold at right around the first line up from zero. I'm guessing this is because I did emissions removal, that I need to reset my idle. How do I do this..?

Next..I have white smoking coming from around my turbo area, and a bit of white smoke coming out of the exhaust when the turbo is spooled a little (less then 2psi), but out of vacuum). I had a coolant leak when first starting the car up, so I'm guessing the "around the turbo" could be that burning off. However, even after 10 minutes or so of being completely warmed up, it was still smoking, heh.

So..are my coolant seals blown in my entire, in my turbo, what? :\

Next! When I turn my key to "on", my..I think..AC condensor fan? Turns on. My previous owner removed the AC unit, but not anything in the dash, or front bumper. Also when the key is turned to on, the idiot lights do not all turn on, except the ones that apply (parking brake, doors, hatch, etc). Help? :P

Suffice to say, my previous owner did a bunch of hackjobs, and I've been fixing them a little at a time...any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

not holding any sort of idle suggests a vac leak, and TPS adjustement

the no BAC thing kinda makes it harder to mess with the idle.

did you remove the turbo recently? you might have a bad seal around the coolant send or return line to the turbocharger.

theres a screw on (i thought) all the fc tb's .. its on the back ...

has an 8mm nut that goes around it to prevent it from moving ...

if you loosen this nut or take it off completely you can then turn the screw that it was on, and this will directly affect idle by pushing a part of the throttle linkage ....which in turn directly affects how open/closed the throttle plates are ..

?????

yeah we have a misunderstanding then.

that screw "technically" is not real an idle adjustment though ive always had to use it as such. There should be (on all NA models) a screw on teh top of the TB that is an adjustment for fine tuning. like the BAC does. Its right on top of the TB where is flatish.

wish i had a picture.
