1988 RX-7 Convertible (non-turbo) Radio Prob
1988 RX-7 Convertible (non-turbo) Radio Prob
My whole radio is dead, its the factory radio, which I would like to use with all the speakers that are in the car. The lighter is also dead. I have been unable to locate the fuse diagram specific for my car so Im having trouble telling what fuse supplies what electronic device. The radio is the CD/Cass/AMFM with the mute box on the right side. Ive checked all the fuses on the back and in the fuse panel, nothing blown. Any Ideas?
I had the same problem
Sometimes a wire going to the speekers can have grounded out. Disconnect all the speeker wires from the harness (Grab a wiring diagram) and then plug a spare speeker directly in the radio to test it. If it works then, you might have a grounding issue. Look in the doors for water that might have gotten in.

The Room fuse, Antenna fuse, and Audio fuse are all required to be good for the system to work correctly.
In addition it sounds like your cigar fuse is also blown

Hate to necro such an old thread but if you ended up repairing the factory stereo, if you had the model number for it? I was gone and my roommates moved out but failed to pack up my stuff like they said they would, and in the process I lost mine. Pretty pissed because I have yet to find one and I wanted to have a stock setup eventually.
