Exclamation 1988 Fc Ignition Problems

Well i daily drive my fc and the other day for some reason my car didnt want to turn on. when i clicked over my key nothing would happen. nothing on my dash worked. no guages didnt even hear the main fuse click over or nothing. i also noticed that my tailights arent working just my headlights are. i replaced my main fuse and nothing, i replaced my main relay switch didnt do anything either. replaced my ignition and stilll have the same problem. all my fuses in the car and in the cabin are fine. anyone have any idea what might be wrong with my car?

There's a wire/cable which comes from the main fuse in the engine fuse box and drops down below the fuse box. The cable is Black and then mates w/another like cable. Chances are the connection between the two are poor or loose.

For anything to work that requires the ignition switch means the solid Black wire at the ignition switch must have constant 12 volts. The wire is part of the front harness connected to the ignition switch in a two wire plug shared w/a Black/White wire.

Do you think if i remove the fuse box inside ill be able to see the were the two cables meet?

The two cables meet a foot below the engine fuse box, so to answer your question I would say noooooooooooo!

Remember, the engine fuse box is in the engine bay and not the interior of the car.

so i should check my engine bay harness. i replaced it a long time ago. i believe i have a few laying around.
