I am lconsidering purchasing a 1988 RX-7 convertible. It leaks a little bit of oil and a small amount of coolant. Asking price is $4250. How expensive is it to fix the leaks, and what is a resonable offer on the price?
wow thats high for a car that is leaking fluids... i paid 4k for mine last year but keep in mind mine was in MINT condition... the paint is awesome and interior is awesome as well.... if neither one or either one is not MINT then dont pay that much for it..... mine also only had 106k miles on the original engine... now if it is modded i can see the extra money but otherwise for a stock car dont pay that high unless it is MINT...... id pay 3k for it if it was in good condition

The top is practically new. It has leather interior and most of the whistles and bells. The paint is in pretty good shape (as best I can tell.) It has 108000 miles. I'm in NC so how do prices compare from where you are?

That coolant leak could mean disaster. Either new radiator, or new coolant seals is gonna kill you. Matters where it is coming from really. The coolant leak could just be that the hoses are not tightened all the way. Same thing with the oil.
Same thing with the oil leak. New oil cooler, or oil cooler lines are busted.
4k is way too much for a 16 year old car. Considering it is a vert with 108000 miles, I would say 2.5k. Matters what condition it is.
