I have a 1987 RX7 GXL 5speed. It ran previously and has been sitting for over a year and now wont start. The battery has been charged, I changed out the gas with new, and checked for spark. Also I have went through the unflooding procedures many times. Still it will not start. Sometimes it will get to where it sounds like it might, but doesnt. It does have the fuel cut switch intsalled, and the pump does turn on. Any suggestions?????

 

I can't tell from your description, do you hear strong compression pulses at all when cranking? Did you change the fuel filter? If you put a timing light on it and verified the leading plugs are getting spark, then I'd say you need to rebuild the oil film inside the engine by adding 1-2 caps of ATF & cranking.
