1987 na hot start issues *searched!*

When my car is hot the starter will not crank. It acts as if the clutch is not depressed fully when i am starting it, but the clutch is hugging the floor :\

This only happens when the car has been running for a while (30+min) and after it has cooled for about a hour and a half it will crank just fine. When its hot and i have the cranking issue i can pop start it easly, so it is not flooded ect....

The clutch has some free play on it and has about 35k on it along with the motor, but the rest of the drivetrain has 145k on it. The transmission sounds like it has a bad throwout bearing but would this cause such an issue? My only diagnosis so far is assuming the clutch linkage is adjusted improperly, causing the freeplay and crank issue. The clutch fluid is also exactly on the MIN line.

Help please im tired of finding hills to park on D:

As long as the clutch switch is making contact, it wouldn't matter if the clutch hydraulics are disengaging the clutch fully or not- the starter should still crank.

35K on the hydraulics, it might be about time to do a rebuild on the cylinders anyway. I rebuild mine every 25K to prevent any frustrations...

Think the starter is on its way out? How many miles on it?

Starter has 35k, same one that came with the engine, is there a way to check if the starter is bad? When the engine is cold it starts perfectly :\

Just throwing this out there but hot start issue maybe a loose solder point on the clutch switch or a break in the wiring that opens when the wiring gets a little heat. You might want to try causing the hot start problem then while it won't start troubel shooting the wiring for continuity. 35k on a starter is not really pushing it's life span at all.
