Question 16 psi OMG TOO MUCH!!

i just got my car running cool, and i wanted to do a little boost check, so i did a 3rd gear pull going onto the freeway. to my suprise it was boosting at a crazy *** 16 lbs. that wasn't right, cuz i have a stock s5 motor, in an s4 chassis. the only mods i have is that FCD and a downpipe. havn't drivin it since then b/c i'm a little worried imma pop my engine. anybody know what's wrong with my car?

If all you have is a downpipe and you don't have an intake and/or exhaust, the size of the wastegate isn't a problem, particularly if you have a S5 turbo. I would suggest that the wastegate is staying shut for some reason. I would check to make sure that the wastegate actuator has it's vacume line connected properly.
