15" wheels q's

Was going to do 16" or 17" wheels on the 87 SE but it seems that the car is going to have to be my track car and I need to get new tires NOW> found these but only in 15" size. The 15" should handle well for autocrossing, anyone with pics of 15's on the car (aftermarket) please post them so i can get an idea of the look...

whoops its late, didn't mean to post with out answering your question... I have seen many fc's with 15's, if your car is lowered substantially, they look pretty good, and suit the track well, as you have less weight. depends on the tire you use too. ... but a low profile tire and smaller wheel help your ratios pretty drastically in view of cost to benefit ratio...I'd put those on my car...

I am waiting on a reply from the company...They are Nippon Racing Wheels....supposed to be pretty light weight from what i have read. $429 with TIRES!!!! on sale. Here are the 16's i am considering, but they seem a little heavier....still attractive though. I really like the 15"s and i bet they would do well for autoxing...

Falken tires 195-50 15.

WWW. Bestwheel.com

I REALLY LIEK THE 15's and when the car is lowered it'll look great i think. not to flashy and actually functional.

205/50-15 tires on my vert. I think it looks and drives better than stock (205/60-15) tires but it makes 15"s look too small for FC.

one reason i am not doing the vert wheels is because.....ITS A 87 SE!!!! I havent done the 5 lug swap......... plus these look 10x better then vert wheels. I really like the vert wheels don't get me wrong but these are a nice alternitive for a decent price.

hows this... man I hate trying to make this pictures small enough for the server here.

The paint is stock Sunrise Red, which you can see looks a little orange around the plate, but it actually matches very well in person. I think its just the weird lighting today since we are all stormed here in Northern CA.

Its my custom cat back that I will be selling probably in April. I have been testing it since fall. I have to make sure what I sell on my website is quality stuff as the last thing I need is people bitching that it fell apart after a year.

I figure if I can make a single that you can live with in a 'vert, it will work in all FCs.

I was talking about it with another member earlier today and said:

Yeah, It looks like I should have the single available for shipping in April, and the dual probably in early summer. I will be including a restrictor/silencer for the muffler for people that have removed their cats and/or need extra noise reduction. Even without the silencer, idle noise is about 80 dB (only about 3 dB more than stock), but they have a very rich and deep tone to them.

We just made a minor modification to them, to help increase ground clearance (the pipe opens up to a 80mm- 3 1/8 ID a couple inches back of the end of the main cat and that big pipe was scraping on some speed bumps, so we shifted the pipe up slightly to get a little more room).

Dyno testing has shown about a 10 HP increase (average) on the non turbos with stock cats so I am very happy. On the Turbos it is even better.

And they appear to be holding up extremely well to the weather (we have a set on a FC up in the Tahoe area with its 160+ inches of snow this winter). At this point I am still looking at selling the chrome plated stainless single for $250 including silencer and gaskets + shipping.
Might be able to drop the price further, if I can get enough orders when they go on pre-sale.

Yep, that is the draw back with going with light weight 15s.

Remember every 5 lbs you can save per wheel (using 12 lbs wheels instead of 17 lbs wheels) translates to 5 HP.

So 22 lb wheels would be like driving with 10 less HP than using the 11lb BBS 15 inch wheels.

So do you want to look cool, or have more RWHP?

Yeah, the Falkens Ziex 512 are really one of the best all weather inexpensive tires. They are not in the same ballpark as the Pirelli, but still pretty exceptional for a all weather tire.

And the springs are just stocker vert springs
