Mazda usually does a revision of the engine for each car that its for, i suggest you search, all of this has been covered before.

the 86-88 Turbo got a 13B-T, its a 13B with an Hitachi Ht-18 turbo on it, a top mount intercooler and some other stuff. it was 186hp at about 7psi of boost.
the 89-91 Turbo is still a 13B-T but it got a better exhaust manifold, different intake manifolds, intercooler is still a top mount, but it gets revised piping. efi system gets an upgrade, 200hp at about 8 psi
the 89-96 Cosmo has a revised engine (we call it a 13B-RE), two HT-10 turbos, completely different intakes and ecu stuff. most importantly it changes engine mounts, so you need brackets to put it in an FC, it also gets a front mount intercooler, so you need do to that as well, 225hp at about 8psi.
the 92-03 FD engine gets revised again (13B-REW), larger HT-12 turbos, different intakes, different chassis mounts, different ecu, etc etc came in a 255hp and later in a 280hp flavor, the 255 is about 9 psi, and the 280hp is about 11
the Rx8 has a 13B-MSP/Renesis engine. MSP = Multi Side Port. big change in the porting for these, no turbo. they come in 3 flavors, the early low power, early high power (S1) and late (s2). these are OBD2, and again different mountings, not sure anyone has put one in an FC yet.

Counting down the days until someone does at this point! Would be cool to have the FC with the updated dash, like the guy who swapped his FB with an RX-8 engine did.

i think it would be a fun combo, its like 80hp more than an S5 NA, you would notice that... if you got the car down to ~2600lbs, it would be really good, and still smog legal if you wanted

probably the same $$ as a turbo...
