13b-re cosmo header options before dyno...rb vs stock

hey all,

im about to get the 7 dynotuned here shortly and i wanted some feedback on the header options i should go with. i currently have the RB street headers, bonez cat, a straight pipe that i can swap the bonez cat out for, and a prof dual catback at 2.75 inches. im not sure if i should run the cat, modify the straight pipe for the borla xr1, or switch it back to the stock header with the bonez downpipe. the car has tipped over to being a track car but i still have to drive it to the track and would enjoy driving it around town if it wasnt completely dangerous and obnoxious. its got a high comp 13b cosmo, street port, stand alone, making around 220-240wheel.

i also recently almost purchased the rotary shack SDJ style headers but it was like pulling teeth and was lucky to get a refund after a few months of waiting. in that time i developed many mixed feelings about the RB header, ranging from its better than nothing to i hate it because its so loud even with the bonez cat that cops will probably kick my *** and my neighbors are mad for me turning the car on at all.

id like to get it running but id also like to enjoy it since it hasnt driven in years since i started the swap (long story). i also recently had a 6 port daily with the bonez downpipe on the stock headers and it was a good mix of noise suppression and pep. i did notice that it suffered slightly in power compared to other RB header setups ive felt, but it was great for going under the radar, and i do enjoy how the exhaust gets a little more room to breathe instead of taking a 90 degree bend right out of the port. i do think that coupling the exhaust ports and making it cast iron could be really bad for heat when pushing the car, though, and im not sure if coating the stock header would fix that.

so my options seem to be (in socal btw):

rb header/bonez cat/catback (pushing the limits of loudness for the street, i thought cats quiet it down???)
rb header/borla xr-1/catback (wouldnt the borla still be louder than the cat?)
stock header/bonez downpipe (seems mellow but i was shooting for 230whp, not sure if the stock header will take me down below 200-210 and overheat)

she should be putting down 236 wheel and im not sure what the bonez high flow cat or stock header/bonez straight pipe would do to the performance. but the sound is a real issue these days. please advise!

Ran a RB header, RB presilencer, HKS 50mm catback for years, not terribly loud. If you are going with a custom catback, use RB/SMB mufflers (others might be just as good, I just don't have any experience with them)

High flow cats do little to quiet down the exhaust (in my experience)
