Definately hard work but worth it. The really hard part is finding the little things like cruise control switch and plastic that surrounds the levers for the fuel door and hatch. I am STILL looking for them 3 months later.

Wouldn't it have been easier to change the initial D model to a LHD?

Someone that reads an entire thread, I like that.

Yes I imagine it would have been but much less fun, less learning, and less attention.

My buddy has an R33 imported from japan it is funny we take it out and I read the newspaper as he drives and people bug out, we also go thru Burger kings drive thru and the people are like WTF.... But the best is people thinking the car has auto pilot when I read the paper as he drives, everone points at us.....LOL. My goal with my rx is to beat him in a race. He is pushing 650 HP@the wheels. Came from Japan with a damn 4.25 inch exhaust. Here in Staten Island the roads suck, when you hit a pot hole it is like hitting a damn speed bump, I have seen many people blow out their tires and crack rimz from our pot holes. He took off the 4.25 inch exhaust after 2 weeks of buying the car.....LOL Good luck with your conversion. I must say, nice job on the tranny.. I mean damn REALLY NICE JOB....(& i thought i was crazy)....LOL

it would be sweet if someone did a crazy custom swap that was both left and right hand drive, so if they got pulled over they could both deny they were the driver. what would the cops do then?

OK aparently this is misunderstood. I was in the middle of my build when my buddy sent me the Initial D car. I was looking for a way to make the cover of a magazine. I looked at that model and decided that I would make the WORLDS ONLY RHD 10th AE. So the REASON I made this car RHD is to make it one of a kind.

Did they really? I thought the US was the only country to get 10thAE's. I know they built them when they got to the US. They took an 88 TII and threw on white moldings, white rims, bronze glass and a few other goodies and called it a 10thAE to sell more TIIs.

10 AE's were the only S4's to come with a black interior not ot mention they were fully loaded with every option.

So they are basically heavy S4 TIIs that look sexy. Does anyone know how much 10th AEs weighed? Probably as much as an S5 TII

These were produced in Hiroshima and shipped to America complete. America ONLY. They would have had to strip the car completely repaint it, get a new VIN plate for under the hood to show the proper color code, and get all black interior a year before it was available and change all the glass.

Other areas of the world got them (RX-7's) earlier or later than us but there was never another anniversary edition produced. Americans tend to buy special edition cars, we are suckers for that stuff.

yeah pretty sure that the problem lies in the ball joint it is a little shorter than the stock one, bringing the hub a little closer to the end of the control arm and thus closer to the endlink bracket

Yeah, a half inch or so shorter from the not so exact measurments we took. Would hate for something that simple cause so many headaches though.
