hey all i searched and searched and only found so much info on my new ride and i was wondering what every little detail was on the 10th anniversary's I.E : suspension,motor,tranny,rear end,interior,body. please let me know any facts about it asap im gonna start collecting parts to piece my baby back together and just wanna make sure i get the right stuff for it so let me know everything. post all thnx -eric

 

I believe the 10th AE is just like any other s4 TII except that is it the heaviest. Included with a 10 AE should be leather seats, momo shift **** and steering wheel, 10th AE badges on the exterior and goldish tint on the windshield. Thats all I can think of off the top of my head.

 

its body mouldings, taillight surround, and wheels were painted white

 

take VERY good care of your glass... it is almost impossible to find the proper replacement windsheild etc. )with the bronze/gold( tint.... there are only like 2 windsheilds in the US )at mazda dealers( and the cost is about 600 a piece.

 

It is the same as a regular 88 t2 except:

-body moldings, tail trim, and wheels are white
-black leather interior, the only pre-89 with black...
-glass breakage sensors with stock alarm
-headlight washers
-momo shift **** with integrated shift boot
-10th anny steering wheel
-10th anny floormats
-10th anny side badges on fenders

In 1988 Mazda also celebrated the first 10 years production of the RX-7 with a special, limited edition turbo model. This tenth anniversary model RX-7 came with many of the options found on the other cars including air conditioning, power steering, power windows, power door locks, electric side mirrors, electric sliding sunroof, cruise control, premium 120 watt stereo system, security system, black leather seats, and well as including a special Momo shifter, bronze tinted windows, custom keys and leather wrapped steering wheel. The few options available included a Ultra-sonic interior sensors (a precurser to the modern Radar or feild sensors) for the stock security system.

The 10th AE was exclusively available in a monochromatic crystal white finish. The body trim, tail lamp trim and the standard 16 inch alloy wheels were white. The monochromatic paint scheme set the 10th anniversary apart from any other 88 RX-7. Production was limited to 1500.

 

I meant to write it, but forgot, to put the bronze tinted glass all around.

 

also dont forget it, there was a 10th AE leather bra w/ the logo embroidered in and also a 10th AE baseball cap and t-shirt. dont know if these were included or optional. when i bought mine, the previous owner still had them and gave it to me as well. what a nice guy!

 

That was optional stuff, far as I know. The bra does look nice as hell, as bad as I hate to admit it. Only on the 10th, though.

 

And don't forget the 10th AE embroidered floor mats as well!

u can't forget about the 10th anniv. key. the color of the key matches the car.

Really, I dont see what the deal is with the key. I see people posting WTB ads for keys, or paying a shitload of money for a stinkin key. No way in hell I would do that. It is just a key, go to walmart and get one made for 98 cents and go on about your business.

I don't get the whole business about the key, but everything else with the car I understand.

 

the floormats were pretty shoddy. it's just an embroidered patch that was glued on the floormat, right? my floormats have a triangular indent from where the badges were
well my key has a nice bronze tinge to it due to age...now it matches my tint!

 

Only some of the AE's came with glass breakage microphones. One of mine has it and the other doesn't. Oh and as said before they came with a nicer stero system with "buckets" for the rear speakers instead of the brackets that everyone else had.

 

I like the 10AE bra mine came with. The keys are really nice too. Only one of them has been used, the other one has no marks or scratches on it at all. Is there any way you can tell which # of the 1500 yours is?

 

Yeah mine has what I think was the premium speaker system. Sort of an odd system, each speaker has it's own built-in amp, and like 1988 10th AE said, the rear speakers are mounted inside "bucket" sorta tube things.
