10th ae windshield glass???

Do any of you know where to get the bronze tinted windshield glass for a 10th ae? Good prices would help too, a local windshield place quoted me $700 for the glass alone.

BUMP^^ Heh I'd like to know also. Mine has tiny rock chips in it, but if it gets a crack I don't think I would want to put on a normal windshield. Our bronze tinted ones own.

No...if YOU do it the results will probably be poor, and pro shops won't touch it.

$700, ouch!!!

Is it even bronze though?

Might just have to pray that someone is parting one out, and isn't too far of a drive away. I couldn't begin to imagine what it would take to ship a windshield.

alot of money? lol if I was getting a rare 10thAE windshield shipped I'd see how much it costs to insure it for the 700$ it costs for a new one!.

You only have two choices.
1) Get a second job and kiss *** at a Mazda dealer to get a new one.
2) Hope you get lucky and get an original one off of a 10AE parts car.

No aftermarket windsheild company makes bronze tinted glass for 10AE's. There is virtually no demand for it.

eh, it's an "original condition" thing. If, in the future, 10AE's end up being a serious collector's car, one with original broze glass will be worth a lot more then one with clear replacement glass.

Thing of it like a "matching numbers" muscle car... just twenty years newer.

$700 for glass alone is a rip off.
My insurance actually installed an original 10AE windshield in my car after I insisted it was the only correct part. Mazda was the ONLY source for the windshield. I think the aftermarket glass was like $500 Canadian, and the 10AE glass from Mazda was I think like $1300. I would never pay that myself, but if you can go through insurance like I did you might get lucky.

PPG's part number for mazda windshields with and without front antenna is as follows:

FW00521 BTN
FW00521 GTN
FW00521 GBN
FW00521 BBN

(ANTENNA)
FW00522 BTN
FW00522 GTN
FW00522 BBN

I can install the 521's for $295.00 and the 522's for $150..I don't believe there is a molding charge. I'm not sure if the BB, BT, etc. is a color code or not, but the bronze tint may be available.

I wasnt trying to compete for windshield installation services. I was just trying to help the guy out. my father owns his own business installing autoglass for area dealerships, so I figured this is one way I could help...

So are you saying you can extend a deal to others (maybe not as good, but decent)? Or are you just bragging?

They have windshields marked shaded or shaded with band at the top, but the only thing marked bronze in the catalog is the rear hatch glass...
