Question *weird* TPS readings... ??????

Hey folks, well, my throttle has been acting quite weird lately. I mean, my car has. I would watch the boost/ vacuum gauge and observed the following.

Under very light throttle, at a certain point when I pressed the gas, the needle would jump forward (towards 0) and as left off even more, slowly, it would make a big jump back the other way. It seems like it is a dead spot to me, that is my observation.

I took off the intercooler, and plugged my Multimeter in. I had about 1 K ohms, I adjusted it so that it was at 1, then moved the throttle. This is the confusing part,.. resistance went *LOWER* than 1 K Ohm, all the way down to half a K Ohm. I moved it really slow, and it would do this.

Is my TPS dead?

Can someone give me some insight? I don't really want to shell out 230 bucks for a new TPS if it isn't the problem :-/
