With the verts bulky frame I heard doing a turbo conversion can have little problems.
I heard that the transmission mounts have to be different and may be the room for the turbo might not have room. So Pictures, info, and places i can get misc parts would be helpful.
I also think I need a custom downpipe. So if any of you know where I can purchase these items that woukd be great.

I have a turbovert. I bought it already converted. I't has a regular RP downpipe (2.5) The turbo II transmission looks to be fitted fine. the turbo has plenty of space. It has a standalone in it so all of the emmissions are gone, I like it but I want a C5 corvette. So my vert will soon be up for sale

For clearance issues I think the only concern would be the (removeable) frame brace under the bellhousing.
Only the Vert has it, I think. Otherwise there are no differences that matter.
I have seen it left off, to no detriment. (Yes a little more chassis flex, but not significant)
The LS1 V8 Vert I built works fine without that brace.

I just did mine and everything bolted up like factory except the hybrid driveshaft I made up from an auto front yoke and my NA rear shaft.

Everything bolts directly in with no modifications. Even the vert's front crossmember/brace has a cutout for the STOCK precat/downpipe. These cars came with the turbo engine and drivetrain in japan and overseas, so there was no reason for them to change teh chassis for just us. The verts are nice in that they even have tranny mounts for BOTH auto and 5sp crossmembers. Other than series 4 and series 5 differences, there is only one vert chassis.
I personally am running an NA drivetrain in my 89, but a t2 motor. No fitment issues. I have converted 2 other verts to t2 status (full drivetrain) with no issues whatsoever.
Whoever told you there are fitment issues is full of ****.

I second that now as someone who KNOWS what they are talking about. It sounds like whoever said the vett. has a "bulky" frame has never really worked on a vert. I even posted a misconceptions topic today to express how much the naysayers can be wrong.

Here is the best one
and another.
This is when I bought it little over a year ago. It had a few problems like the duct tape top, broken power windows, wiper switch, clock, clutch slave, and the rear brakes were out. All of it complimented the worn out grey interior and usual broken radio surround.

The 3rd gen wheels were OK though

I know it was a shame that one of the few cars that I ever bought with truly good paint and a straight body was the one that I wanted to repaint.
I don't want to jack this thread so I say we let it go back to the original subject though.

ive been considering a manual conversion for mine now that my wrist seems to be alot better (it was badly broken a few years back)
one of the main things putting me off it was the thought of changing the floormounts for the crossmember
as for the orginal question, yeah as the others say just about everything is the same, mine is a factory turbo and ive changed a few parts with coupe stuff.
