that's too expensive. i got mine for $1000 flat. runs great, aircon works, manual trans, new tires, stock rims tho, needed a paint job, and a player. but overall, i got it cheap.

1989 TII good mods, rebuilt engine ran 40k
for 3500.....

really, Greddy turbo, Apexi GT exhaust, Tokico, Eibach ERS, u name it....

the thing i think about car mods is that u mostly won't get your money back..... =)
this one, just because S5s are rare, doesn't mean it should be that expensive...

with that mileage, and other tings....
and "I never revved the car past 7500 RPMs" meaning he did rev it to 7499? whats the difference? =P

i'd say 3000 is on my fair list

my 2 cents =)

EDIT: Oh, and sony Xplods....... he said it like it was a good thing (sorry to flame on Xplods, but they aren't good speakers....... lots of people say so and even mentioned in Interior/Exterior/Audio sub section)

Im the friend of the owner, this thread was only posted here by the author to be a bit of an *** imo (At least just about every one of his posts so far at our forum has been a put down to someone for what they have done or what they drive), i just wanted to clear some things up with my first post, and some more with this.

The car has been to around 5-6 drift events and 1 auto x event if i recall- its never been to its "limit". hes been able to push harder and further with the the car but hasnt.

Hes had other Fcs (NAs, and one turbo i believe), so this isnt the car he learned to drive/race/drift on.

This car is far from having the "**** beat out of it". Theres no body damage, paint is perfect- interior is perfect. Engine still pulls hard and tranny shifts smooth. Cold AC- aftermarket Radio/cd player. All electronics work- no rust at the sunroof which is common (minimal rust if any, i dont recall any at all)

In this area (Where hes actively trying to sell it) The car would fetch about 2500 bucks easily enough, so whoever buys the car is paying about 2000 more for all the parts included

Wide Fenders (500 bucks) to help clear the extra camber used
Racing Beat presilencer ($190),
A'pex N1 cat-back ($546),
an 8-point rollcage (over $1k),
4-point Sparco harness (red, $100).
4 FD rims with tires

Add the sound system, the Bonez CIA, - and Suspension (which includes KYB/AGX adjustable dampers on all four corners, Suspension Techniques springs) The TII Driver seat etc.

I believe the rex WAS raced before he purchased it- but anything broken/abused was fixed/replaced- with the exception of the rotors (but the parts to replace them with much better units are included).

So the current owner has personally never abused the car- anything that was has been delt with properly.
____

Reason for selling: A friend (old boss) Let him borrow his Rx7, An FD- i guess he had a little too much fun the night he borrowed it and wants to sell his rex to buy an FD of his own.

Anyways u know most of the story- so theres no point in going further into detail. This car was never meant for this forums and shouldnt have been posted here- if 4500 bucks for the car in its current condition and the amount of parts that come in the package is a bad deal- well i guess someone is going to get an aweful deal.

IF anyone here is willing to pay $5000+ for a modded s5 NA, I have a modded s5 TURBO CONVERTIBLE with new everything (literally) that I'll sell for just a couple grand more. PM me for details. Pic in sig. New engine, meticulously maintained and properly modified.

too much

i think 5500 is way to high especially since its an n/a,i know where a tenth anniversary turbo 2 with a j-spec swap and over 300 hp to the rear wheels with only 45k miles on it is for 7k,and it is extremely immaculate

the car is stock engine-wise. suspension mods are KYB/AGX adjustables and Suspension Techniques springs (the front strut tower bar and camber plates were added a while after I started drifting). it is not difficult to drift a stock N/A FC, i placed 2nd in a drift competition this year with a bone stock '86 base (it had mufflers though, not even full exhaust).

some people may choose to purchase the parts seperate, but it'd be a deal to buy it from me with the car, since it's actually closer to buying it at wholesale. the car at purchase went for $3500 ($4000 after taxes), and now it's coming with brand new uninstalled parts and more installed parts for technically $500 added to the price I paid a year ago. that is a good deal any way you look at it. clean S5's aren't easy to come by in my area, so i don't know what the situation is in each individual area.

as for the warped rotors, that's probably from going up and down the local mountain a few times (a total of about 5 times at most, 3 times at a fun speed). if you want it to be fun, you're going about 80-100mph, so of course the brakes are going to see some abuse. no, i didn't drift the mountain. once again, the only thing that took abuse was the brakes (and the tires didn't really lose any life other than average driving).

cwsttu: it is not a lie, I make it a point to be honest. the car has never gone past 8k, highest is about 7800RPM's. do not mistake everyone else to be just like you.

bingoboy: overrevving the car doesn't keep the carbon build-up away. i said pushing the limits... that's got nothing to do with getting the rev's up where they're supposed to be occasionally.

koukifc3s: smartest thing i've seen all day. i agree, but if need be, i can have a complete rebuild done for $900 for the buyer by a professional.

marlaman: drifting isn't pushing a car to it's limits. it's tough on a stock suspension, but that's why it's got a performance suspension. the only thing i'm really hard on at all is the tires, and i'm selling a new set with the car.

as a side note, the car wasn't raced before i purchased it.

"The brakes currently vibrate when pressed hard from the rotors being slightly warped." That's what it says on the eBay auction page.

I think the general concencus is, Don't buy this car. The owner of it and his friend are trying to sell you a car that isn't that special with some aftermarket parts that aren't even installed.
If you wanna spend that much I can sell you my car for half that. All it needs now is paint. Perfect interior, newer engine, the car is bone stock. Oh well Good luck.

Case your profile says you have a T II How come we never heard of you running it down the 1/4 getting a 17.1 or drifting that car?

If you want a good car, shoot me a PM. I've got a 91 white TII, about 86k on the body which was just painted and fixed of all dings, rear emblems shaved. all of the work including engine were done last summer, so your probably talking 6-7k on a fresh Atkins street ported engine. I will be taking some pics as soon as the weather clears up and I give it it's first wash since getting painted....looking for somewhere around 9000. Don't do a back flip yet, If you want a clean stock lookin car that has everything done short of an Intercooler and aftermarket computer, you found it. Almost all work done by KDR, and this car is an everyday car, no problems...get in and go. Stay tuned for pics and maybe a vid of the way a streetport sounds first thing in the morning.
