Talking $15 dollar per wheel junkyard special!

So I went to this near by recking yard over the weekend to get a dash for my car, but I ended up leaving with these for $15 per wheel!

http://www.rhythmfunk.com/rx7/BBS.JPG

I think the only reason I found a full set of rims in good shape in the yard was because they had wheel locks on them. NO SWEAT, ok...maybe some. After finding a socket I was able to hammer over the locks and a LOT of back muscle....I got to take my new treasure home.

They are 15x7.5 with a pretty good lip on them, what do you think?

I've been looking for a set like these for some time. I got them off a Camaro. I thought they where the exact set I was trying to find that come on the Firebird GTA, but when I looked closer, these where 15" not 16" like on the GTA's.

WOW.....Nice find...
I saw some of the GTA wheels you are talking about.
They were at a junkyard too.
I wanted to take them but wasn't sure if they would be the right offset..
Do you need to run spacers on them???
What is the width of the GTA wheels??

Accoding to what I read on this site, they should fit...I hear that we need to worry more about "not enough" off-set more than "too much". I haven't seen them on a FC, but they are 8 inches wide and I believe the offset is 16mm in the rear and zero in the front.

I'm not sure if I said that right. What I meant was, 20mm for example is better than 48mm ....staying closer to a lower number.

Those look like the old Firebird / Trans Am stockers.
Be careful, as Pontiac had some wacked bolt patterns - one of which was a 5 x 115mm PCD which is slightly off from the stock 5-bolt 5 x 114.3mm PCD on the FC's.

I saw some of those sitting on a Trans Am this morning on the way to class. Not a bad rim. I'd like to see it on a 7 before I tried it though.

...Firebirds have a 5 x 4.75" bolt pattern, I don't foresee any way of those fitting your car, unless you're planning to redrill your hubs.

The 90-96 Grand Prix GTP had a similiar, 16x8", wheel that has the right lug spacing, but the backspacing is messed up, it will rub the struts. They fit the rear, but not the front. Coilovers might clear them, but I doubt it. They're not light either.

They do look damn cool though. I've always liked the 80's style BBS wheels, or the older black center Work wheels.

I have not had a chance to put them on yet directly to the hub, but when I measure the lug pattern to that of my current rims...it seems the same. You have me all worried now...I'm gonna have to check it out.

get the gta rims even if they dont fit..... then sell them on an f-body board, I was looking for some for my trans am before I sold it; they can sell for 350-700 depending on condition at times.

He's right. Be careful because most of the had the 5x115 or 5x4.75 bolt pattern. Probably cant tell by the naked eye. Its close but it won't work.

Good luck.

Every Firebird from 1980's on had a 4.75 bolt pattern (120.65 mm). Just checked my Haynes for 1982-1992 F-Body, and 1993-2002 F-Body (I have a Haynes collection, LOL). They're all 4.75 according to them. Give it a shot though.

Mustang, and FWD mid-size GM vehicles use the 115 mm, which is close enough for the FC's 114.3, if you use either hubcentric rings, or highly conical lug nuts. Most of the aftermarket wheels for the FC aren't hubcentric properly anyway-

Yep, they are nice wheels for OEM, but you almost NEVER seen the used on any other vehicles...this is why: stupid bolt pattern.

If you really like the style, I would check into a Fiero Formula of that era (1985-87). I'd check into the spacing first, but I'm 95% sure it's 5x114.3, and the offset should be close, and you can get them in a 16x7" They were cast by Enkei and are a pretty nice wheel.

Ok here's an update. I re-measured the wheels and the are actually 15x8, my first mistake...this is good though. The bad is the 4.5 or 120.7mm pattern. I will have to get a adapter that converts 114.3mm (4.5") to 120.7mm (4.75") which creates a 1" space as well. I dont know if they will fit after that. I dont want to double post...but I put all the measurements on a new thread to get feedback

https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/will-these-fit-fc-tii-467133/

These measurements might not be 100%..I apparently can't measure correctly :P

I added about .25 on each side for the bead lip.
