I don't drive on the street, No title. And the reason why I'm doing that is because there's rust in the gastank.

So then get a replacement, then some suspension, then an assload of seat time. Maybe make it to the Pro-Ams, maybe get your FD license. Then maybe start worry about that.

Not to mention you'll need a full cage and about 400+hp to compete.

My plans for now, New starter, passenger side fender, k-sport coilovers, Seat five point harness, then we'll go from there.

Mazda discontinued the FC gas tank. I know, I tried to get one a few months ago. The only options are getting a used one or a fuel cell really. If your gas tank is in good condition you can get it cleaned, treated, and sealed up nicely, but that costs a couple hundred and it sounds like his tank could be beyond repair.

Funny gas tank story. A buddy of mine had an FB(I think it was a GSL-SE) that had a gas tank that had holes rusted through it. He actually drove it around in that condition for about a week. I think he left more gas on the road than he burned through the engine as he drove. He did end up getting the gas tank patched up with some kind of temporary fix, but that didn't stop the electrical system from causing a fire and burning that car up anyway....

Racing harnesses with no roll cage/bar? I hope your neck is made of steel! It will surely be put to the test once you roll it.

I actually meant get a used one, but I guess that wasn't clear. Im assuming a used one would be cheaper than a fuel cell...

No, I figured you implied used that's why I also said used ones in my reply. Who knows availability of used ones near him may have been an issue, and shipping a used gas tank is probably not worth the cost and potential hazards. It is still just a used tank then. It would probably be a good idea to get it cleaned out before putting it to use. At that point, when compared to the price of a fuel cell it doesn't seem like that much of a bad idea to go with a fuel cell. Fuel Cells aren't really crazy expensive at all. The lines, pumps etc. to complete the system are where the money goes.

FC's are rather a rarity to get a hold of believe it or not in this area. I live out in the sticks so the best thing for me to grab would be a fuel cell. And it would be safe to assume that a cage would be built. This is my first FC and I got it in the shape it's in, no fender, fuel pump rusted, gas tank rusted, needing plugs wires etc, basically a overhaul. I already have taken the springs off and ordered some Tanabe springs just to let it sit on untill I I get it running well.

I decided to also use a stock gastank if I can find one since my interior is already stripped so it's not hard to get too the fuel pump, etc..

I thought you were dumped on cut springs?

Couldn't afford money for the real deal. **** that. My car sits now because i was ADVISED STRONGLY BY PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN THERE AND DONE THAT to save up and buy legit stuff because it's safe and the RIGHT WAY. Why do the job twice?

TTT, continue to post. Your builds, ideas, etc are boss. Dont let random **** like that bother you. If people refuse to listen to you, their loss.

I could use coilovers, take a bit extra time to purchase but worth it in the end. I'm going to take some pics of the car and how it sits.
