would you sell?

ok guys, im not asking you to make a decision for me, just curious for you insight.

would you sell your uncompleted project for almost double what you know its worth if someone came up and offered it to you?

i have a 91 turbo2 swapped with 107k miles on the chassis and i know its worth about 4k i've got around 7k into it and this kid at a car meet offered me 7 grand cash for it today. i've pretty much got my mind made up but im just curious what everyone would do in this situation, and i know everyone's financial situations are all different which would persuade them one way or another, but im just curious to see what everyone would do.

I'm jobless atm, so I do need the cash. I have a 95 jeep grand cherokee and a 89 Rx7. I like them both. Anytime I think about selling one I take them out for a drive. The rx7 is the hardest because people here want to buy it. I have about 2k$ invest into mine, and can sell it for more very easily. I'd keep it, after you let it go you normally have regrets. Friend of mine let his go, he got another. But he was always goin on about how much he misses his.

it all depends on how you look at it.....money or time....if you just look at the car as how much it worth then sell it because it only money....but when you spend time working on the car for days or week or even months make sure that ever thing works right... to me the car become personal....that why i name my cars with women names....call me a little crazy.. i feel like my rx become a extension of me........i have owned my 7 since 88...

Well, heres my story: The FC is my project but it has been daily driven for the past 4 years and im about to get a Speed3 as a daily driver because i dont have the time to keep working on the 7 and maintaining it. My original intent was to have a daily driver and slowly do work to the 7 as i have time and money.

since i'm really not sure when that will be it makes sense to me to take the once in a lifetime opportunity to get back pretty much the amount i have in it.

So if the kid is serious and calls me with the cash in his hand it will have to go.

Based on your situation, selling it sounds like a good move. If I interpreted correctly, it was originally an N/A, so it wasn't all that rare. If you want an RX-7 again down the road, they will still be around.

It'd be gone in a heartbeat. Buy a clean shell and swap it for a fraction of the price.

WOW! Nicer FC's have gone for much less, so you could easily by another car down the road and come out ahead.

I would have grabbed the title before he changed his mind. BTW speed3 makes a great dd, i get 22-24mpg city and 29-31mpg highway. Can fit 4 people comfortable and can haul an engine/transmission around.

But yea original Tii cars can be had for less than that with mods. WTF are you waiting for?

Depends on what the car is to you. Some guys just see a car as a car, some see it as more. It depends what you want to do. Personally I don't like selling something that I've poured work into and got a bit attached to. If someone offered me double what my turbo II is worth, I wouldn't even think about it. I'd tell them to take a walk, I won't sell. To me having dedication to the car is more important than considering just making a buck off of it.

If i sell it i wouldnt get another rx7 right away, i'd pay down some bills, get out of the project game gor a while and consider another rx7 down the road.

The guy is selling his BMW then going to call me, well see if he pulls through.

My 1st thought was that 7K is more than enough to get a nice fc with some mods. So you're really not making a bad deal at all.
