Whatever it shall become is the correct decision

Well I got my rx7 back cause the kid said there was too much wrong with it and he wasn't going to finish paying . So I have decided it will become a dedicated track car occasionally driven on the street .

I'm going to start with the basics

Complete interior removal
Basic suspension mods
New wheels and tires
Exhaust system *Has anyone heard what a buddy club spec II sounds like on a RX ?*
Intake

Here is what I have to start with

Eventually it will receive a turbo system
and maybe a nitrous kit for when I take it drag racing

Any suggestions please post

wow that interior is way more lighter than the blue that was in my FC. What gives?

BTW good base to start with, atleast you dont have to convert to 5 lug.

Yea the front bumper I did myself . It needed it after a run in with a buzzard at 70mph

I'm not sure why the interior is so light of a color

Yea I hope it will be fun . But I'm expecting many long sleepless night's ahead

I know the spec II is uber loud . But I would like to find a sound clip of it . This will not be driven on the street a whole lot

The only car I've heard a specII on is 240 with and sr20. Its loud but sounds great. Really isn't much louder than my exhaust. I'm not sure how it would sound on a rotary, interesting thought.

Has a small oil leak , leaks maybe a quart every 2,000 mi

Has no radio , no heater , no a/c , and exhaust needs fixed .

I drove it 2-3,000 miles before selling it and never had a problem

As soon as I sell it to him he tells me the brakes are going out and the clutch is toast and he feels he doesn't owe me anything else towards the car

So after some talking he tells me to come pick it up . I go get it with a trailer bring it home start messing with it checking a few things and there isn't even any fluid in the clutch reservoir

Thats all the farther I've gotten so there may not be a problem with the clutch . But I don't know yet

Sounds like a smart guy... That clutch cylinder was rebuilt a few years ago.

3,000 miles already?? I put about 1,000 on it.

Here's what I was going to do if I kept it...

-gut interior. buy a black dash and door panels.
-strip sound tar and spray a good coat of Rustoleum white down.
-replace clutch
-cut off the drive side of the Y pipe and weld it closed to be a single passenger exhaust.
-put my other gunmetal mesh wheels. on it.

I was going to buy a set of coil overs for my silver 86 and put the springs from it on the white 88 . I did a better job on the silver cars springs...

Then I would just drive it as a track style back up car. I could car less about the oil leak. I just drove around with a couple quarts of oil in the bins just in case.

i say keep the interior if your gonna drive it on the street.. interior gutting wont make that much difference.. better off going more extreme on the suspension and lsd, esp if you where consindering gutting the interior and doing light suspension mods... should be the other way around or both

Thanks I think it will look good . I'm gonna try putting some clearcoat on the bumper to see if it gives it some more shine .And then I got to strip the paint off the trim
